Keep your purchase documents and proof of any tax paid to another state. Illinois can credit tax that was properly due elsewhere if the payment is separately shown on your proof.

Your Illinois address affects the tax calculation, too. Give us the address where you'll register the car and ask for written purchase figures showing the price, dealer charges, any tax included at the sale, and whether anything remains due when you title and register it. We'd rather discuss your actual purchase than quote a statewide rate that ignores where you live.

If you arrange delivery, watch Kansas's registration clock

Kansas's 60-day registration window starts on the purchase date, even if you arrange to have the car delivered later. If you're buying a used vehicle, leave time after it arrives for the Kansas VIN inspection as well. The Kansas Department of Revenue's title guidance explains the registration window.

For either home state, settle the pickup or delivery plan and get a copy of the purchase paperwork before the vehicle leaves Ellisville. That gives you the documents and dates you need for the next step at home.

Ford's 2026 U.S. warranty guide says authorized Ford dealers perform covered repairs. A used Ford may have remaining factory coverage, depending on its model year, mileage, and warranty start date.

Routine maintenance and any separate used-vehicle or extended-service coverage have their own terms. Check the coverage on the particular vehicle before counting on a repair being paid for.
